1. Overview

First: Thanks to Adam Siegel
for creating BugTrack and making
it available to use. The price is right and it's a nice
bit of software. We were in sore need
of something where I work and his BugTrack was recommended to
me by our tech lead. Despite my lack of background in Perl, I
was able to get BugTrack installed and running in a short time.
With these instructions, I'm hoping to save you a little heartache
and some time getting BugTrack up and running on a Win2k PC.
These instructions describe the steps required to install
BugTrack on a PC running Windows 2000. Specifically, they describe
how to get BugTrack running with IIS 5.0 and Sql Server 2000. If
you wish to install BugTrack using a different OS, web server, or
rdbms you may be able to get some insight into the process here,
but I make no guarantees about that.
Note: I do not cover the setup for SendMail and
SMTP in this document. If you're adventurous and manage to figure
out how to get these running and would like to have your instructions
included here, by all means
please email me the fruits of your efforts and I'll endeavour to include
them.
